I just added a new poll that asks what we should run on Tuesdays. Current Tuesdays are DCFinal all day.

Well personally I enjoy DC but BG is my favy. I also like DR map pack. I have every mod so I can pretty much join any mod however, when DC,FH and DR map pack came about,the number of players on TPU fell. Reason? Well to my own observation that a lot of TPU's player do not have the mods and so they can't join. I have seen the tell tell grey text when your in game and shows a player trying to get in and be disconnected. I don't know if they do not like the other mods or haven't downloaded them yet. We really need a better way to advertise these mods and get the word out there. I will step it up more in telling players that are in BF about all the mods and let them know of the download page on jdrgaming. To bad there isn't a "in game poll" for those that can't under english because how can they know if don't read english well like Japan etc etc. So yes pros and cons. One being DC and FH,both haven't been modded and You,Jesse,mojo are the modders and already have your hands full with BF,BG and DR map pack that leaves those mods in stock oem. I enjoyed FH and DR map pack and I wish the race track can stay forever. What if BG stayed on sundays,FH on monday,DC tuesday and DR map pack on wed? Maybe that idea is over the top. Just a thought tho.

sisko has a point here but i dont know if he relises it, i do, and ill go ahead and say it.... we only got 3 days of original bf1942 every week, i dont like that, i LOVE bg42 but i think just 1 day is fine. nobody is gonna agree with me on this one, but DC_Final days are dead, its like not many people play it, atleast on tpu, its mostly a handfull of tpu regulars. i think dc final should not have a dedicated day for it and have it added to the wild card option, that way if people really want to play it, it can be done on a wild card day. i also dont want to push "my" maps on the server too much. i used the past 2 wild card days to tease everyone with different maps, trying to get the race track noticed, and it worked. i also like the ctf idea too but again it should just be a wild card option for now. only having 3 days of regular battlefield is kinda running people off, cause sisko is right, they are not taking the time to even notice we have a website, we have new maps, and play different mods that are all at the website, and since most people dont ever read the in-game announcements, there may not be any other way to get the word out other than us personally telling people.

Yeah and it goes back to the communication issues because the little grey in game post are hard to see and focus on while you are in a battle. I have a idea and don't know if it is practical or even know it can be done. Ok,if it was possible to have a short announcement in the RM and while one of us is in game,we can post the announcement just like a warning would post like every 10 min or so. Now you would have a post that would be in yellow and thus players would see that one hands down. I was even thinking about twitter but I don't think thats a good way to go. But what if the main reason is a communication error? Dark you also have a good point too and thats in regards to DC final. I love playing it,love the helos,love all of it however,I do get to feeling selfish on DC days because while I am enjoying flying around,most of TPU's players are not playing and so I feel like we cheat them out of play. What can I say, I like to be fair in all subjects. The race track is way cool and being that its a conquest map and not coop,we can still have it as a training course where new players and old can practice flying and even learn how to use artillery to the point you know how to aim and shoot from far. But also a map to kick back and do stunts. DR I like your idea of it being on the bottom of the map list so players can just vote past it if they don't want to play in it. I am just rambling along here huh? Sorry.

Yeah, as much as I love DC, it's just not popular enough on TPU to keep it on all day Tuesdays. So I'm leaning towards having it only on occasional wildcard days. As for BG42, that's a tough one. I think if we free up Tuesdays for regular BF42, then that would be four days a week for BF42 instead of just three, and I think we could keep two days for BG42. But I've definitely noticed the fall-off in attendance since we started getting into other mods. It's just that BG42 is so fracking awesome! Oddly, I watched some chat on TPU the other day and one guy in particular was moaning about how awful BG42 is. I don't get that at all; my own views on BG42 are that it improves on the original game in every way. But everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Those darned in-game announcements really aren't very visible, are they? The annoying thing is that I'm sure it's possible to control the colour of the text, but I haven't been able to figure out how. If anyone finds out how to do this, let me know pronto.

I think I may know why that player didn't like BG. Lets face it,BG is10 times harder than BF and one reason is the AI"for the most part" is highly and deadly accurate. In my own opinion the AI learns what you do and will try to out flank you. Here is a sample,the next BG day comes up,go grab a flag near their base (for most maps) and once the AI get that flag back,watch how they will leave"most of the time" bots around that flag to guard and I don't see that in BF. That is why I love BG over BF hands down,it is a challenge. But the historical accuracy of BG is just thru the roof and that is awesome. Yes I will miss DC Final for every tuesday but I will get over it knowing that TPU players have 4 days. I think they will be very grateful for 4 days. But it would be cool to have the race track in the BF rotation, but at the bottom of the map list.

well i made that odd shaped figure 8 river on the left side of the map for planes, it has many bridges and i even made a "choppy" video of it on xfire. but last wednesday nitro was flying half of it over and over, the bottom loop of the river, counter clockwise, its pretty intense. before long everyone was doing this loop, bothways and not many people were running into each other, it was pretty much the thing to do for a good 5 hours straight. also i noticed everyone gets a kick out of trying to fly into the deep hole at the back of the carrier, u fly into it, and try to fly thru the underground city and come out one of the tunnels, its possible but hard as hell

Yes it was hard and fun. What say a paired team obstacle course? In a stuka? You know that high bridge you have with a drop off? What if you did a course that have the other team mate on that bridge and when the course start,pick up your partner in mid-air (jump off the bridge while the stuka fly by) and finish the course. If this sounds good then what would be a good course? Someone would have to stay on the death cam and follow (and to record) Maybe this is to hard but it does sounds neat.

cool idea and i had that in mind when i made the high jump, i also made those high altitude spawn points thinking it would be fun for planes to try to dive on a guy and race him to the ground, or try to ketch them as they fall. everyplace on the race track was made with lots of ideas in mind, mojo field was made as a place to spawn in and find everything waiting for ya, also threw in a cool jump. the river was made for flying, the tunnels were made for some hard core racing and hell yeah flying. as far as making a course on the race track in a plane, iv found its hard to make one up and try to descibe it to someone, lol, how many bridges are on the map?? lol iv found the best way to make up a course there is to find a good line, memorize it, then get people to follow u, its very hard to tell someone where to go at that map, it literally has 12 towns(2 are underground), i never counted the bridges, 13 tunnels, 7 main jumps, miles and miles of actual race track for cars..... so much room for ideas, and i challenge everyone to come up with a fun course

I'm with you guys. I like the idea of having a flying challenge that's unique to TPU. I'd be happy to make any videos (demonstrations and challenge runs) as I seem to be able to make fairly smooth videos with XFire and I'm used to working in the free view mode.

Ok what about this scenario. Dark,you know that course we was following you in last wed? The one where we started off at mojos field then made it around to the underground passage? What if we start off at the bottom of that high drop "it would start where the flag is" anyway we would get into a car and go full throttle to the end,time it just right so that when you jump,you would fly and drop far right,parachute down near the planes,get in a spit,yak,mustang (whatever plane the player likes most that is at that location) and take off and fly the rest of the course,then land at mojos field? To make it more interesting have it be timed. Being that Mojo and you are the top flyers on TPU,one of you can run the course to get a base line in time and adjust that time for everyone else because the time you guys have would be almost unbeatable. You know during the course you could have a target that players would have to bomb for extra points. Jeff is right and If TPU has a flying challenge,do it in style and something that never been done before.

People seem to fall into two groups on TPU: the ones who just want the TPU-modded BF1942 maps running 7x24, and those who want to mix it up with other mods. I guess we won't be able to satisfy everyone. Oh well...

I wouldn't say you were wrong at all. You were trying to represent the wishes of people who have commented on TPU but haven't made it here to vote on the polls. A better solution would be to convince them to vote, but I know you do that too. Keep up the good work!!
