This was my first foray into multiplayer gaming. It was great, but now I'm kind of spoiled. Offline play is dull to the point where I'll likely stop altogether.
I have to assume that the issue that made you choose to take the server down, was a 'last straw'. I can imagine that keeping a server working and secure is a headache, let alone the societal issues that come up... Your concerns are not unfounded. However, there are those of us here that are definitely on your side, agree with your world view and morals, and would continue to defend the environment you had created in TPU.
I'll watch for a post about your final decision. Either way, be at peace.
