Apparently Shaw Cable is planning to go ahead with UBB and expects to announce pricing changes in May/June 2011:

This is obviously bad news, and is very disappointing, as Shaw originally appeared to be listening to its customers on this issue. Stay tuned.

Jeff, oh man I'm sorry to hear that. Price gouging is so wrong and this reminds me of just that. I bet you are highly ticked off with shaw right about now. I guess the old saying is true" the big corps and utilities can always get away with pretty much everything."

Yeah, I thought maybe Shaw was going to be sensible about this. Of course, it's still possible that the new rates will be reasonable. All we can do now is wait.

a thought here... if u had to shut down tpu... how much would it cost to put everything in a box and send it to tennessee? i would also be talking about how much the equipment is worth on top of the shipping.

If I ever shut it down, Ryda, you'll have the 'right of first refusal'. Depending on the situation, that might include the hardware (the computer), the software (a DVD with all the server files and configurations), the web site and domain, and of course the right to use the name. I just hope it doesn't come to that.
