The recent upgrade of the TPU hardware involved several significant changes:

1. Server-grade hardware: Foghorn has eight CPU cores and has far greater processing capability than Hubie. Extra cores also make it a lot easier to run parallel and virtual servers.
2. Twice as much memory: Hubie had 4 gigabytes of RAM, but it could only use about 3.2 GB of that. Foghorn has 8 GB of RAM and is able to use all of it. This also helps to run parallel server software and virtual machines.
3. Gigabit networking: Hubie's connection to the network was limited to 100 Mbps, while Foghorn's is 1 Gbps.
4. Linux: In many respects, Linux is a much more stable operating system than Windows. It was built from the ground up as a true multi-tasking O/S, whereas Windows was built on a truly awful foundation of DOS.
5. 64-bit: Foghorn's hardware and operating system are 64 bit, which has certain advantages, especially when running virtual machines.
6. More stable BF1942 dedicated server: the BF1942 dedicated server was developed in Linux, and was only later ported to Windows. The general consensus is that the Linux version is more stable.

Sounds like a Maserati. With Linux, will DDoS Attacks be less over Windows?

Would that it were so. But it ain't. Dealing with DDoS attacks is a job for the router, although I suppose to some extent if the attack is directed at one or more of the Battlefield 1942 network ports, the server it's running on being more powerful would probably mitigate things somewhat.
