Yeah, Windows 7 isn't cheap. Of course, Windows 8 is actually a lot cheaper right now - you can get it for $40. But I don't want to go there yet.

As for DC crashing on Windows 7, I haven't noticed anything in particular with that mod. I didn't really test it much before installing the compatibility patch, but it works fine now. Next time you see him, if he's still having problems, tell him to send me an email or post something here in the forums. Also, he should maybe try the compatibility patch.
