Looks like it's DCFinal, but there are a few DC Extended fans. I'll leave this poll open a while longer and then look at switching back to DCFinal if the votes show the same thing.

I thought about doing a video of all the DC mods, a look at what's all different. But thats not necessary, I did go back and did a compare between these two, and notice the frog foot only has bombs, no rockets and the helos are easier to control and land in Final. Scuds are easier to aim as well, the tanks have a thin skin to me in compare with Dcx, the M1A1 can't take a pounding like Dcx, a rpg and your tank is done. But as I said, the general lay out of jets and planes are better in Final. Hard choice indeed and we haven't heard from *GP* yet on this. Yes, lets see if the poll get more votes in the next weeks a head. I still rather have Final but as you said, Dcx fans are out still there and waiting just a little while longer will not hurt.

Jeff, is it possible to increase the AI skills in Final if it turns out we will go back to it? Final is fun but there are maps where the AI in bots are too dumb, like Midway, if we are on axis or allied, you go to the other team carrier and 98% of the enemy bots would spawn on deck, then run off the ship to their doom and they don't even see you, a easy base camp here. El Alamein day 1, axis bots 45% of them will hang around the side of the base main hanger, they may see you, but not really and again a base campers dream. I have also been going back to all the maps and taking notes just in case we get Final back. Also, last Dcx day, I have been going thru the map list while on the server and making notes on what map crashes so those can be removed from the list either way Dcx stays or not. I didn't finish but this Tues I will and will send in the list.

I really don't have an opinion either way on this. However, the most compelling argument for keeping DCX is that you really aren't going to find any other servers running it. But this is where Jeff comes in.
Jeff, do you want to provide niche mods that are hard to find elsewhere, or do you want to attract a larger base of players? DC and DCFinal seem to be more popular than vanilla '42 at this point, so there are servers out there to play on. But you have an opportunity to TPU-ize the DCFinal maps and have a larger base from those players come back week after week. Then you may have some of them come back on other days to see what else is offered. This is an interesting time in the lifespan of 1942, where it is reaching its twilight in popularity (at least in North America anyway)--how many years have we been saying that though!

There are a lot of factors to consider in this decision. My own goals are: a) to run mods that work well for co-op play; b) to run mods that are relatively stable (fewer crashes); and c) to run mods that are of interest to TPU regulars. So if it turned out that a vote between mod A and mod B was an even split, but mod A was found to be more stable, I would run mod A. All else being equal, I think the regular players on TPU should be the ones deciding. Although it's fun to see new players on TPU, I'm not too concerned about attracting new players. Perhaps the other admins feel differently?

A idea could be having the two rotate every other week to see what mod really shows the numbers. Or doing a Tues/Wed thing for a while and having the wild card day be Final. We are seeing additional players now being that some bf 42 servers are no longer running. But I am with you on running the more stable mod that doesn't crash as much.
