Axis/Allied rotation

1/1: Currently TPU switches from Axis to Allied every six hours, and every day the order switches. Is this okay, or would you like to see it changed?

I like it fine the way it is. 10 (47.62%)
I don't like the way it switches the order every day. 0 (0.00%)
The shifts should be longer, like 8 or 12 hours. 1 (4.76%)
The shifts should be shorter. 8 (38.10%)
The shifts should last all day. 1 (4.76%)
I never want play as the Allies! 0 (0.00%)
I never want to play as the Axis! 1 (4.76%)

Here's what I think: game play is a highly dynamic and fluid
entity in bf42 and its mods. the active number of human players in any given map, their cooperative- or not, nature individually and collectively change the play immeasurably. I always end up thinking at the end of a map, regardless of outcome, is: wonder how that would have gone if we were on the other side? and of course,by the time the team advantage does change, all those players are long gone. So heres my wish, and i think its nearly impossible to do with the server manager, but: We would have two rounds of every map, but round two switches army/team advantage and humans players. Would that be cool or what?!

Interesting idea. I'll take a look at the server manager to see if that could be done. Then we could maybe try it on a wildcard day.

Failing the possibility of team advantage swap ( through server manager programing) on a per-map basis, i vote to shorten team advantage change from current six hours drastically, like every two hours or less. any comments guys?

A shorter team swap cycle is always possible, but it comes at a cost: it means that the server would always be running one or two of the top maps only, unless there's a vote.

I've been thinking about a way to overcome this, however: I could write a script that detects when the map changes, then rewrites the map list, changing only the last line (game.setCurrentLevel) so that it runs the next map in the sequence when the swap occurs. What do you think?

I would keep the rotation as-is. The problem I see with increasing rotation is that we would see the same maps over and over again. The maps at the bottom of the rotation would never be seen if the rotation was extremely short. Now, I know players can map-vote, but you have to get most of them on-board.
